About East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service.

East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service (EDBS) is a Scottish Charity which has been operational since 1998 within another third sector agency. Due to increased demand, the charity became independent in 2022.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life for adults experiencing social isolation and loneliness, whether this is due to ageing, changes in circumstances or disability.

The district is separated into three areas and supported by our Community Link Workers, each responsible for their locality. 

• Bearsden & Milngavie

• Bishopbriggs & Auchinairn

• Kirkintilloch and surrounding villages.
