How to access our services

  • Step 1

If you think you could benefit from our befriending service, please contact a member of the team directly by telephone or email. Referrals can also be made via GP or Social Work

  • Step 2

Once we have received your referral and assessed your eligibility a community link worker will be in contact with you/your next of kin to arrange a home visit.

  • Step 3

Following the home visit, the community link worker will seek to match you with a befriender/volunteer. The length of time to provide a match can vary depending on the demand for the service and the availability of befrienders/volunteers.

  • Step 4

Once we have a potential match, the community link worker will arrange to meet with you, introduce your befriender/volunteer and support the initial meeting. If both parties are happy to continue, together, you will make the arrangements going forward. Your community link worker will always be there for any further information you require.

Why not call or email us to arrange a chat to see how East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service can help.
