Join us this November as we celebrate our month long campaign, ‘A Cup of Kindness’.
recognising and celebrating the value and impact Befriending has on individuals and communities.
A Cup of Kindness is a month long campaign to encourage donations to the service by highlighting that all donations, big or small, can make a huge impact. A donation that matches the price of a cup of coffee or tea can go a long way in combating social isolation and loneliness across East Dunbartonshire.
Many of our matches go for a cup of coffee during their meeting, or simply sit at home and have a cuppa together. There’s a ‘coming together’ that happens over a cup of warm brew and we believe that at the heart of it, coming together is sharing kindness towards each other.
'It's been like, opening a window and letting the fresh air in', said one of our Befriendee’s, aged 85.
'I really wasn't interested in going out and meeting anybody, but after being matched and having visits from my befriender, she has helped open me back up and have a new outlook on life, you could say. We just hit it off straight away! Her coming has helped me face the outside world again and gave me a new outlook.
‘It has been a life saver.'
To support our work in Befriending, we are asking for a small donation this November that will help those many chats over a cuppa continue well into the future.
If you are unable to donate, we would appreciate that you share the link to this page when anyone who might be interested.
