Barge Trip 2026

Ahoy Matey! What a lovely couple of days we had along the Forth and Clyde Canal thanks to The Seagull Trust. Leaving from Kirkintilloch Marina, we sailed along peacefully, watching the birds flying and the odd fish swim by.

Once we got settled, everyone was given an activity sheet that they got stuck right into, with puzzles, quiz’s and brain teasers there was lots to enjoy. This was also a great trip to get to meet others as we spent time sailing down the canal, with the smaller setting, everyone got chatting to someone they hadn’t met before.

Despite the rain, we were warm and cosy inside and enjoyed our lunch and of course, our chocolate easter egg curtsey of Morissons Bishopbriggs! A big thank you to Maxine, the Community Champion for Morrisons who thought of us for the Easter Egg campaign.

A huge thank you to the Seagull Trust for having us along for 4 trips over two days, we absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back again.
