New Year. New Website. New Team!
Hello everyone and a great big welcome to 2025 a new year full of new things within the Befriending service. How exciting!!
We are overjoyed to bring you our new website containing information about the service, the area we manage, the service we provide and ways to get in touch. Take your time to scroll through our pages, learn more about us, how to enquire about becoming a volunteer, get in touch for information on how to refer, express an interest or feedback. We would be delighted to hear from you. As the service is a nonprofit organisation, all methods of Befriending and events are completely free to all who are registered with us, both Befriendees (service users) and Befrienders (volunteers). We also welcome donations to help the continuation of this. This could be anything from donating gifts for our raffles at events, or a one off donation to pay for someone's cuppa and cake. There are many ways to donate which can be found on how to donate section.
The team extend their thanks to Rakesh Davda and Paul James of bamn.digital for their skills in building this site.
Talking of the team, we have a new team to welcome in the new year!
With Anne’s retiral, Dawn has taken the position of service manager, Lesley continues as Senior Community Link Worker and covers the Bishopbriggs area. We welcomed Fiona who is the Administration Officer and will be fine tuning everything behind the scenes and started with Befriending in late November. A warm welcome also extends to Chloe and Lorna who joined mid-December. Chloe will cover the Bearsden and Milngavie area whilst Lorna will cover Kirkintilloch and surrounding villages.
How busy it was towards the end of 2024, and how exciting it is to welcome in 2025 with a new team.
